Horizon Fitness T92 Treadmill Review

(More customer reviews)I researched treadmills for 3 weeks before deciding on this Horizon model. My husband and I both wanted to be able to do Cardio at home in the mornings before work. Previously, we had owned a Reebok and while it was tolerable, we were looking for better overall quality and durability this time around. I ordered this machine on a Wed. morning, Amazon shipped it that afternoon via ABF Freight and it was delivered to my driveway 48 hrs later. (We subscribe to PRIME and FYI--it is fabulous and well worth it!) No damage whatsoever. They do not bring it in and it is very-very heavy so have a helper or dolly on hand. We had it up and running in about 35-40 mins.

Pros:
1. This machine is durable. Unlike our old Reebok, my 200 pound husband can run flat out without feeling like the treadmill may break. We each use it daily and I believe that it will last us years.

2. I like the longer length and wider width of the track for running.

3. I also like the fan and while I don't use the mp3/Ipod speakers (we have a stereo in our workout room) they would be convenient for someone who does.

4. Bright, easy to read screen

Cons:

1. The only real con that I have come up with is pretty minor in the scheme of things--the main on-off switch is located on the bottom front of the machine. You can turn the machine on and off via the screen, however the screen remains lit and undoubtedly still draws electrical energy. Thus you have to turn it off each time via the main switch on the front bottom which is a problem for us because we keep the treadmill facing a wall. Slight inconvenience, so it loses one point for that.

Overall I would absolutely buy this machine again, it's a good buy.

Horizon Fitness T103 Treadmill Review

(More customer reviews)Let me start by saying I did love the features on the treadmill, the ease of putting it together and the very quiet motor. Now for the bad news. It was damaged in shipping. The typical black plastic in the bottom of the box. I say typical because I have read reviews for the T101. THAT my daughter bought and it is perfect, by the way. So I tried it and it rubbed under the motor where the pully is. SO...I try to exchange. I could not. I changed my phone number and that some how voided being able to exchange it. So called and got parts from Horizon. After 2 weeks we got it fixed...OR not. The new part rubbed the same area!! VERY dissapointed I returned the treadmill. So I truly do not know if the motor area was pushed downward causing it to not be fixable?? While I had it, I did use it. As long as i pushed the plastic bottom piece down I could use it. So here is the treadmill while it worked. GREAT programs. I loved the intervals, weightloss and the hills programs. all took you through different speeds and inclines automatically. VERY smooth operation. Only slightly halting going from 5mph down to 2 mph. The speakers were tinny sounding but typical. VERY easy to use the control panel. this has the potential to be a wonderful piece of equipment, but with the problems I had, I am afraid to try this one again. I do hope it was 'bent' and will work for others. It is very quiet. I am small though and the size of the person using it does affect how loud the motor is. The reason I say this is one of the repairmen ran on it and I thought he would kill it. My lights dimmed for gods sake. But he was a big man, said he weighed 270 and I go 115. SO...big difference in how hard this machine had to work. Decent cushioning, my treadmill belt was crooked though. Shaped like a snake with a kink in it. Hope that makes sense. It still worked , but was hard to center because of this. I would personally opt for the T101. My daughters is quiet, strong, cushioned, and works like a charm. It also costs $400 less. So in the future maybe I will get that one. I could tell no difference in the motor strength. It seemed very strong even when used by a heavier person (180lb).

(More customer reviews)The first one we ordered came damaged.The plastic on the right of the belt was damaged.We finally got a replacement (takes about 10 days) and then that one worked for a day and then just stopped working.It happened during a run - the whole thing turned off.Now we are on our 3rd one and it has been running smoothly since.Not sure if I would order a treadmill online again.The savings is enticing, but the shipment is worrisome.

Merit Fitness 735T Treadmill Review

(More customer reviews)After unpacking the box which was brought by a special freight company, I ran into problems right away trying to fasten some of the parts together. It seems that the holes where certain screws were to be used seemed to have been tapped wrong(threads not all the way through or crooked)and I had to re-tap three or four just to get the parts to fit together! This was especially true with the front leg extensions. It took about an hour to set everything up. By the way, set it up where you are going to use it, because you are not going to move it once its complete. Everything seemed to work okay for about two weeks.I really liked the machine having used other types in the past. After couple of weeks in the middle of a workout the motor would just quit. This would happen several times where it would stop for awhile and sometimes come back and sometimes not, even though there was power to the unit and the board was still lit. The manual suggested calling the phone # on the back of the booklet for service. I did and was told the number is no longer in service! Finally I went to the Merit website to get a number that worked, but everytime I called, didn't matter what time of day or day their reps were always too busy to take my call!I was to leave a voicemail and they would get back to me. Well.. I left four voicemails over the course of several days and no one ever got back to me. That was IT! I called Amazon explained the situation and they ordered me another one and arranged to pick up the defective one. The replacement machine came several days later (very quick and no shipping charge)and I started to put this one together. Same problems with the same four screw holes! The same slacker must be tapping these in China! I got the whole machine together and found it was missing the power cord, certain screws and the bottle of glycerin to lube the deck. Luckily I still had the old unit in a box waiting to be picked up, so I broke into the box and took the items I needed for the replacement machine. I have had the replacement for several weeks now and it works just like it's supposed to. I really like it! The assembly and customer service are the faults with this machine. By the way, I wanted to adjust the running belt and looked in the manual and it shows a totally different model!I went online and their website also shows a different model.I was able to figure out the adjustment procedure using some common sense. I picked the 735 over the 715 because of the bigger motor and I'm glad I did. I'm using it for fast walking not jogging because of problems with knees and one heel and the absorb feature of the deck works nicely taking care not to be jarring when you come down on the deck. Like I said, I like the unit very much and I hope I have no more problems. I will let you know in a couple of months with a follow-up to see if I still have a smile on my face!

UPDATE: Its been four months now and I still love the machine! No real problems except for some squeaking at times when the board is in the inclined position. This doesn't happen very often. I use the incline settings up to 7% during my 45 minute workouts. The fan and heart monitor are useless! Do what I did and buy yourself a monitor from Amazon. Bought an Omron HR-100C and it works great! You really need to monitor your heartrate to get a good and safe workout. Really love switching the incline on the fly. Don't really use the pre-programs, just manual. This machine compares with many I have seen in the gym. I have had no contact with service, so I don't know if theres an improvement there. Am increasing my rating to four stars.
