It took only 5 days for this product to show up after I placed the order. The product arrived in 1 very large, very heavy box.It took about an hour for my wife and I to put it together. The instructions are clear enough and assembly went well. The product itself is of very high quality. We previously had bought bikes at places like Sears and Sport Authority that sold for a few hundred dollars. Those bikes typically "wobble" when you ride them or don't provide consistent resistance. This bike is a good example of you get what you pay for.The seat is comfortable and stable. When you ride the bike stays solid. It's more like a gymn experience than what you get with a typical home exercise bike.

The programs available are varied and the display is a good one.To get something better than this you'd have to more than double the price and move up to a high volume commercial quality bike. With a commercial quality bike you'd probably see the entire machine made out of metal. (On this bike the housing of the bike parts at the bottom is set in plastic.)Perhaps you'd see a slightly better seat as well.(Although this seat is a good one and a "cut above" what is typical.) This bike is a good value for a home or moderate use facility.

If I had one complaint it would be that the handle bars by the seat are set fairly low.I have short arms and so I have a hard time reaching them.(Not a big deal since I can ride comfortably with my arms at my side.)The unit is supposed to ship with a chest strap heart monitor that interacts with the unit. Our box did not have one.I called Nautilus and they are shipping me that part.It was fairly quick and painless to get them to send that out.

Product Description:
Enjoy a superior cardio workout without leaving the house with the Nautilus NR3000 recumbent exercise bike. Boasting a frictionless V-Force Plus resistance system and a commercial-grade Poly-V belt drive, the bike is both ultra-smooth and remarkably silent, helping deliver an efficient early-morning workout without waking your spouse in the next room. The NR3000 is also equipped with all the essentials for cardio training, including six preprogrammed workouts, two custom programs, two heart rate control programs that automatically adjust the intensity level based on your heart rate target zone (includes touch rate sensors and a wireless heart-rate transmitter belt), and a fitness test.
It's easy to monitor your progress thanks to the high-definition LED console, which displays your total workout time, distance, calories burned, average speed, RPMs, and heart rate. Perhaps the coolest function, however, is the Remote Operation Control (ROC) system that's built into the arm handles. The ROC system lets you start and change the bike's intensity level without removing your hands--a nice bonus for extra-intense workouts or for people recuperating from injuries. The NR3000, which measures 24 by 44 by 55 inches (W x H x D) and offers a 350-pound weight capacity, carries the following warranties: lifetime on the frame, 10 years on the parts, and one year on the labor.

About Recumbent Exercise Bikes
Despite the competition from trendy new fitness inventions, exercise bikes continue to be popular options for home exercise. They offer the same aerobic benefits of riding a bicycle at any time, in any weather, without leaving the comfort and safety of home. Exercise bikes don't take up much space, require little or no balance or coordination, and can provide an effective workout for all levels of users, from beginners to serious competitors. While the same could be said for a number of other types of home fitness equipment, the exercise bike is one of the few that allows you to watch television or read a magazine while you work out.
The term recumbent literally means "lying down." Exercising in a recumbent or reclining position allows the user to have full ergonomic back support, without causing strain on the arms, neck and shoulders, all of which can be common effects of using an upright bicycle. For many people, having convenient access to quality exercise equipment is critical to sticking with a long-term exercise program.
